The Benefits of Barefoot Massage - Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy
Barefoot Massage? It's not a foot rub, it's a form of bodywork where the practitioner uses their feet and gravity to deliver the massage. Different styles of barefoot massage have existed for hundreds of years. It’s an organic form of touch, rich in history and tradition and very effective for applying the deep pressure your clients always ask for. In this presentation you’ll discover a very specific style of barefoot massage: Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT), which is a western application of barefoot massage that uses deep compression and effleurage strokes applied while the practitioner holds onto bars overhead for support and balance. You’ll get a thorough overview of this unique modality and learn benefits, uses and contraindications.
Jeni Spring has practice Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy since 2003. In the past few years she has provided "solely" barefoot massage services to clients, completely retiring her hands due to the sheer success of specializing in this modality. Jeni is one of 13 authorized instructors for Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy under founder Ruthie Hardee. She has taught across the US and at the first European Ashiatsu class held in Germany. Jeni is proud to have represented AOBT at numerous massage conventions across the nation. When not wrapped up in the massage world, you'll probably find Jeni zipping around on her Vespa with her husband!
