Client Health Records: Need to Know Requirements for Today’s Therapist

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is shifting US healthcare from a system focused on disease to one that embraces wellness and prevention. Complementary and alternative providers are specifically called out in the ACA as a part of the healthcare team. As a result, massage therapists must meet the demands of inclusion: Electronic medical recordkeeping, HIPAA regulations, and standardized communication with the healthcare team. Find out what you need to know doing your SOAP and wellness charting from various perspectives within this new paradigm: Paper vs electronic charting, the integrative healthcare team, HIPAA, payer and legal requirements.
